A Tour Guide to Slippery Noodle Inn: The Oldest Blues Bar & Large Restaurant in Indianapolis

The Slippery Noodle is the oldest Indianapolis Blue Bar. The building has stood there from 1850 being a witness to the changing times of USA. This bar located in the South Meridian Street was formerly known as the Tremont House. The building still retains the old world charm with Tiger Oak bar and tin ceilings. This bar has found a place in the National Register of Historic Places. The inn played a significant role during the American Civil War.

They offer a full menu and a late night menu for the guests. Full menu is available for guests until 11 pm in the night. From Monday through Wednesday, the late night menu is available till 1 am, from Thursdays through Saturdays till 2 am and on Sunday till 12:30pm. You will get a wide variety of Machos, Shrimp Skewer, Onion Rings, Wings, Burgers, Quesadillas, Baked Potatoes, Noodles, Soups and Salads and Steaks. Wines, beer and other beverages are available here.

The bar is also a premier location for Blue music. All the blue fans gather here for a treat. Performers like Billy Joel, Gregg Allman have performed on the stage. Neil Diamond and Gene Simmons have also entertained the crowd with their music at Slippery Noodles. Regional and national Blue bands perform here every night.

During the weekend, bands perform on 2 separate stages and legendary performers like Rick Derringer Edgar Winter have performed here. Country Joe McDonald holds a record of attracting most number of patrons for his shows.
