CineDome Theater
Indianapolis has a special refuge for kids. It is the Children's Museum. Started in 1924 by Mary Stewart Carey, it has carried its non-profit status and survives through grants, programs and contributions. Over the years, it has been extended heavily and encompasses about 400000 sq. feet now.
Among the extensions, Cinedome stands out. Built in 1996 and designed by Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf, this 310-seater theater is poetry for the eyes. Its laid bricks look fascinating in the night. It has been echoed in Festival Park, another extension in the museum.

The museum for its part spares baby care facility, free concierge, city information and other vitals. The carousel rides can be availed at a dollar apiece. There are other sections of the museum that makes history alive for the little eyes.
Cinedome occupies about 32000 sq, feet area and is smart both from inside and outside. Its acoustic system is brilliant. It houses visual depictions of ancient kings like Tuten Khamen, Pharaos, Saxon history, American wars and other interesting stories. They appear haunting even to grownups, let alone small children.
In 2004, Cinedome was transformed into Dinosphere taking cue from the children's interest in dinosaurs. It has been designed anew in plush style. If you travel Indianapolis IN with your kids, this is not the place to miss.

There is plenty of space to amble across and it is hard to cover the entire museum in a day. You can make your own visit plans online and even buy Cinedome tickets on your keyboard.
The entire museum has undergone sea changes since 1976 when a new firm took control. It runs under 30 trustees of the board. Indianapolis travel guide may enlighten you more about the museum. There is a great parking facility in the museum opening right through Illinois Street.
