The Largest Park in Indianapolis - Eagle Creek Park

One of the wonders in the city of Indianapolis, IN is the Eagle Creek Park. It is not only the largest park in the city, but it also one of the largest civic parks in the U.S. Built up in over 3,900 acres of land, it intends to preserve the natural resources and wildlife of the region. The land was initially owned by Eli Lilly & Company.

In the late 1950s, the firm gave it off to the Purdue University. Now the land belongs to the city civic government. As the area was vulnerable to floods, a dam was built to control the deluge. This has been converted to a park, which became famous as the modern day Eagle Creek Park.
