The Murat Theater is one of the oldest establishments in Indianapolis. This unique building is a part of the Murat Center which is an entertainment destination in the city. This theater was established in the year 1910 and it normally hosted Broadway productions. It also held seminars on Broadway Theater via guest lecturers.
The Symphony Orchestra used to perform in this theater during the 1960s. During this time it also served as the solitary venue to host road shows. In the present times, it also hosts musical concerts along with Broadway shows.
Murat Theater has staged several comedy, musical and theatrical performances. Eminent performers like Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfield and James Taylor have performed on this stage. The annual events staged in this theater are organized on a large scale. If you are traveling in private cars, then on spot parking is available at $15.
Cars can also be parked at the Old National Center. However, finding space in this parking lot is a little difficult and you have to be an early bird. Purchase tickets from the Box Office which remains open from 10-5 throughout the week and 10-2 on Saturdays.
Some of the upcoming shows include Marry Poppins on 23rd September, Bob and Tom Comedy on 18th September, Band of Horses on 17th of October, Guster on 10th October, Neon Trees on 3rd October and Classic Comedy Jam on 1st October. Marry Poppins show will take place from 23rd through 26th of September. Yo Gabba Gabba will take place on 13th October.
