The Indiana Repertory Theatre is the only professional non-profit theatre in Indiana which provides more than 120,000 live theatre performances every year for its audiences. The 1927 Indiana Theatre has been occupied by IRT since the year 1980, which went through a major renovation to make spaces for three performances at a time: the main stage, the upper stage and the cabaret. Recently, the upper stage, the grand lobby, the cabaret and the main stage have gone through a 5-year renovation project which has helped the audience support services and theatrical production equipments to be upgraded. The Indiana Repertory Theatre is also undergoing renovation of the lobby and the lower floor.

Because IRT is a non-profit organization, the prices of the tickets are quite affordable and reasonably priced. The theatre has been generously supported by corporations, individuals and foundations, proving the fact that the ultimate aim of the IRT is to serve top quality theatrical experience to the Central Indiana.
