The Indianapolis Children's Museum consists of 11 major galleries segregated in five different levels housing various permanent and temporary exhibits.
LOWER LEVEL consists of a Victorian railway depot along with a Reuben Wells designed 19th century locomotive; the SpaceQuest Planetarium; Fireworks of Glass; Lily Theater; and What If….? an exhibit to explore environments Yunderwater with inter-active activities.
LEVEL 1 includes the Welcome Center, with the impressive 30-foot tall Water Clock; The Indianapolis Children's Museum Store; Food Court, to relax and munch; infoZone; and Dinosphere.
LEVEL 2encompasses the Lanzendorf Dinosaur Art; Special Exhibit Gallery-1, 2 and 3 for changing exhibits; Polar Bear and the Gallery of Miniatures.
LEVEL 3 is for the Indianapolis 500 Race car, a genuine car allowing children to experience speeding in a racecar; Story Avenue, focusing on the oral tradition of African-American voices; and Playscape, where children below 6 years enjoy the most.
LEVEL 4 houses the Doe Science Center; Dow Bio-technology Learning Center; Health House; Carousal Wishes and Dreams; and the Mastodon Skeleton that is around 12,500 years old.
