Indianapolis War Memorial Plaza-Tourist Info

Built in memory of the heroes of World War I, this magnificent structure was made into a National Historic District in 1994. The war memorial plaza consists of three parks, two museums and numerous statues, monuments, sculptures and fountains stretched over 24 acres of land.

The Indiana War Memorial Museum is located inside the memorial plaza building and is spread over three floors. A variety of military firearms, a navy Terrier missile, A Korean war time helicopter and hundreds of other war time documents, photos and artifacts can be found here.

The Indianapolis War Memorial Plaza is open to visitors from Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Tours can be arranged. Entry is free.
