The Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana controls the administration of the Morris Butler House as a private museum home. The Morris Butler House was constructed in the years 1864- 1865 by John Morris in what is now recognized as the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis.
The house was later bought by the lawyer Noble Butler and the name of the museum thus alludes to the ancestry of its two notable owners. The house has been built incorporating elements from the Victorian and Post Victorian styles and continues to retain some of the original furnishings and touches.
