
Take a Close Look at Indianapolis Children's Museum & Cinedome
Founded in the year 1925, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Indiana if the world's largest children' museum. The museum is located in Indianapolis in the state of Indiana, United States. The museum is only the fourth oldest such institution in the world. The building that stands as the Indianapolis Children's Museum was built in the year 1976 and has had more than 5 major expansions after that. The kids love this museum and they would never want to miss such an opportunity to experience a hands-on display of fascinating exhibits.
The museum is full of miniature exhibits that make for most of the exhibition space. There are numerous resource and information centers for the tourists and the visitors. The Indianapolis Children's Museum is stretched upwards into 5 levels that can be accessed by the giant spiral ramp. Inside the Central atrium of thee ramp, there is a colossal glass sculpture built by the renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly in the year 2006.
The main attraction of the lower level is the 'What if?' There are some underwater fish tanks in the first level too with the Dinosaur Discovery Area, which is another favorite with the visitors. The darkened hallway that resembles thee Egyptian pyramid has many artifacts and a mummy up for display. The Ground level has North America's largest water clock, a toy store and a food court. The second level is known for its temporary exhibits.
The third level features stories of inspiring people like Anne Frank and Ryan White is a permanent exhibit called the 'Power of Children'. The story Avenue and the Playscape also form a part of the third level. The fourth level is the most sought after level with a life size carousel and Science works exhibit. Dinosphere at the museum is located where the Cinedome Theater was previously. With a beautiful sound and light show, Dinosphere feature a stimulated environment of a period pertaining to some 65 million years ago.
